About Kerry Wood Nature Centre
The Kerry Wood Nature Centre offers an extensive program of natural history interpretation, major special events, school/youth group and public programs, sleepovers, day camps and more. Come explore the Nature Centre and see our newly renovated exhibits, natural playground and music garden or simply go for a stroll on one of our fabulous nature trails in the Sanctuary.

MAGsparks – participants experience numerous art forms including drawing, painting, printmaking and sculpture. Clay is offered during the summer. Professional artists on staff are in the studio to help with projects. The program offers scheduled activities throughout the year. As well, the Open Studio allows participants to work in their preferred medium.
MAGSaturdays – Drop in family art making! Looking for an educational, fun, and creative way to spend time with your family?
MAGnificent Saturdays is our innovative program, led by artists, that connects our exhibits with an art making activity. Participants of any age are welcome! We supply the materials, the studio, and the artist, you supply the imagination. Share time with your family learning, creating and exploring new materials! The best part….your completed masterpieces are yours to take home and enjoy!
MiniMAG – Hands-on arts and craft program, designed for kids 5 and under.
It gives the youngest artists in our community a chance to come and create a new piece of art every week. All of our projects are geared towards kids under 5 and are easily adapted to the different skills and abilities of all kids.
This drop-in program runs every Wednesday morning from 9:30 – 11 am and the cost to create your own piece of art is $2/child for those with family memberships and $3/child for those without a family membership.
Fun Remarkable Red Deer: Stories from the Heart of Parkland – A permanent history exhibition that celebrates the history of Red Deer and area.

About Discovery Canyon
Discovery Canyon Park is a seasonal water park located beside Riverbend Golf and Recreation Area. It features a natural river-fed water pool, playground area, concession, and washrooms. On a hot summer day enjoy bubbling pools of water, trickling rivulets and a spray pool at the bottom of the canyon. Water is pumped up from the lake below and splashes and bubbles its way down grass and tree-lined riffles. Children of any age can follow the water, which is never deeper than 45cm (18″), on inflatable tubes. Bring your own, or rent one from the clubhouse. Amenities include picnic tables and beach. Seasonal opening and closing dates depend on weather conditions.

About Ellis Bird Farm
Located in the heart of Central Alberta, Ellis Bird Farm is both a working farm as well as a non-profit organization dedicated to the conservation of Mountain Bluebirds, Tree Swallows and other native cavity-nesting birds. Drop-in visitors and tour groups are welcome at Ellis Bird Farm during the summer months, when we are open to the public. Enjoy the beautiful gardens, see the world’s largest outdoor collection of bluebird nest boxes, take a tour out to our bluebird trail, visit the Visitor Centre and linger in the Ellis Café. Enjoy a country drive in Central Alberta.
