The Wood Shed was built to change the way that Central Alberta thinks about a night on the town. We are a recreational sporting venue unique to the region. We started this axe throwing facility to bring people together and take them out of their comfort zone. Our goal isn’t just to teach you how to throw an axe – it’s to step out of the day to day.

Check your expectations at the door, throwing an axe is going to be a blast! We operate casual and competitive axe throwing events for social, corporate, collegiate, and league audiences. Parties, team building events, a casual night out with friends that’s so much cooler than another trip to the bar. We welcome anyone who’s ready to embrace the rugged history of our sport and master something totally different! Our trained coaches will share their knowledge with you and help ensure your safety while you throw, guiding groups through structured tournaments lasting approximately two (2) hours. When was the last time you truly did something together with the people that matter in your life? When was the last time you did something on the cutting edge of culture, that stayed true to Alberta’s logging heritage? When was the last time you did something for the first time? We simply set out to change that. You will have fun, learn more about yourself and the things you’re capable of.
