Wild Brewing Company in Red Deer was ahead of the trend when they opened the first Kombucha taproom in the nation. Kombucha is a healthful fermented tea that originated more than 2000 years ago. Filled with probiotics, it is a cool, fizzy beverage that is a healthy alternative to soda pop. Popular flavours at Wild Brewing include Elderberry Lavender, Vanilla Cherry, Blueberry Mint, Raspberry Ginger and Strawberry Basil. They’re always experimenting with new flavours, so it’s fun to pop by their taproom and do some sampling. You’ll also find their kombucha in central Alberta stores.
