SPUR WEST EVENT CENTER is a multi-disciplined, family friendly facility available for any Event imaginable! Conveniently located on Hwy 11 to RR 5-4 (Alhambra), just 12 mins. E of ROCKY Mountain House or 20 mins W of Sylvan Lake, just N of the Alhambra GTI Corner Gas Station on our corner. With Hwy 11 providing safe turning lanes, you’ll enjoy Pavement right to our gate!

ABOUT US- Dori Westin and Brad Insel are OWNER/OPERATORS.

Dori obtained her CEF level 1 Coaching certificate in 1988 and has been a Clinician for many groups & was a 4H leader for several years. She is a certified Farrier who worked shoeing horses full-time for 15 years & has taught Trimming courses for Adult Education & Fairview College. She obtained a certificate in Horse Husbandry, Equine A-1 and Biological Sciences majoring in Animal Health Technology & appreciated the experience of working with Equine Practitioner, Wayne Burwash and Claude Piche in Calgary while managing a Standardbred breeding operation & doing some Horse training. Dori, a past member of the CGRA & FCA has participated in nearly ALL rodeo events. She spent 8 memorable years working for VOLD Rodeo. She raises & in past, showed registered Paint horses with her 2 daughters, both who went thru the 4H and Pony Club programs. She still owns a few broodmares. Dori, an accomplished Silversmith, is now currently working as a Realtor with a Real E state BROKER`S Designation.

Brad, also a licensed Realtor, did a bit of Rodeoing back in the day as well. Brad is a Journeyman Crane/Picker operator & current owner of Insell Picker Service. He operates the 30 Ton picker truck responsible for the proud construction of SPUR WEST Arena. Brad and his 2 daughters are horse lovers as well. His girls still enjoy participating in the local 4H & Pony Club. Although Spur West Event Centre is still a work in progress, Brad is the all-around hand whose dedication, tenacious hard work and commitment got this place built as quick as could be.
