The Alberta Government Telephone opened a telephone switching station in Olds in 1920. In the early 1980’s the vacant historical building was purchased by the Town of Olds and donated to the Olds Historical Society as a location for a museum. Mountain View Museum & Archives is located in historical UpTowne Olds and features vignettes of early pioneer life in the town. With a revolving art gallery and new exhibits twice yearly, the museum showcases the life and times of the settlers of Olds. The Archives are accessible by purchasing a membership and contain more than 4000 documents and photos relating to the history of Olds.

Hours of Operation: 11:00 am to 5:00 pm Tuesday to Friday, year round. Private tours available off hours. Must call to book.
