Brazeau Collieries Historic Mine Site – Tours Have Reopened

The Brazeau Collieries Historic Mine Site is both a Provincial and National Historic Resource. We offer guided tours of this industrial coal mine site during the summer months. Tours are two hour long guided walks and they run 2 times a day please see website for times. Join us and discover Nordegg’s part in the development of western Canada. Journey through a 1950’s coal briquette plant or tour the auxiliary buildings to discover how this remote facility operated and go into a mine entrance.

Tours of the Brazeau Collieries Historic Mine Site start at the Nordegg Heritage Centre. Off HWY 11 turn south into the Nordegg town site onto Stuart Street, it’s the two story yellow building on the left side of Stuart Street.
